Can’t. Stop. Listening.

2014 has been a really good year for music.  There are several incredible releases that have stood out and been on REPEAT in my house including:

1. Sturgill Simpson Metamordern Sounds in Country Music
2. Wade Bowen (Self titled)
3. LeeAnn Womack The Way I’m Living
4. Shakey Graves And the War Came
5. Adam Hood Welcome to the Big World
6. Sunny Sweeney Provoked
7. Billy Joe Shaver Long in the Tooth

I asked folks on social media about their faves of the year and received some great responses!  See if you agree!

Micky and the Motorcars – Hearts From Above

Shinyribs – Well After Awhile

Jamestown Revival – Utah

Shovels + Rope – Swimmin Time

Fellow Facebooker, Kenny Allen told me, “Jason Eady Daylight Dark.  I’m still stuck on last year’s can’t stop listening album Corb Lund Cabin Fever.  It’s a tie between those two.”

Whiskey Myers Early Morning Shakes

Daniel Thomas Phipps – An Offering

Chad Sullins and the Last Call Coalition – Wicked Spell

Sam Riggs – Out Run The Sun

Cody Johnson – Cowboy Like Me

My friend, Trina Cash said, “I’ve been jumping between two sides of the music spectrum — Lincoln Durham’s Exodus of the Deemed Unrighteous which feeds my hunger and Sean McConnell’s The B-Side Session which feeds my soul.”

Brandon Jenkins – I Stand Alone

Stoney LaRue – Aviator

Curtis Grimes – Our Side of the Fence

Boone Cooke and The Remains – Redemption

Mark McKinney – Standing My Ground

And Josh Reddoch, a FB follower, added, “You are wanting 2014 albums, right?  On the Texas scene, The Dirty River Boys self titled is the best album of the year.  My favorite can’t stop listening to album (released in 2014), if I had to name just one, is Drive-By Truckers English Oceans.”

Zane Williams – Overnight Success

Jeremy Steding – My Own American Dream

Bruce Robison & Kelly Willis – Our Year

Rodney Crowell – Tarpaper Sky

The Piedmont Boys – Scars and Bars

The Bigsbys – Goodwill Suitcase

What CD did we miss?
