Wade’s CD For His Mama

Wade Bowen is releasing a new CD on March 18 and the title claims it’s for his mama but it’s definitely one we will all love!Wade Bowen

“My dad came to me a few years ago and really wanted me to record a gospel album. It sounded like a fun idea but I didn’t put much thought into it because my schedule was so crazy busy. This past year he came to me again and asked if I would finally make the album so we could give it to my mother for a combination 70th birthday and Christmas present.“

Bowen knew that this album would hold a special place in his mother’s heart, since she had been raised singing traditional Gospel songs and hymns in her church. As a child, Bowen remembers his mother telling him that she wished he were able to enjoy the same music in church that she once had growing up. This meant a lot to Bowen, knowing that he would be able to take the songs his mother loved and interpret them with his own musical creativity. Continuing to show his versatility through the stylings of Gospel music, Bowen was able to bring new life to tracks such as “Amazing Grace,” “Old Rugged Cross,” and “I’ll Fly Away.”

Bowen sat down with well-known singer/songwriter and good friend Sean McConnell (hit song maker for Tim McGraw, Meat Loaf, Brad Paisley, Randy Rogers Band, Martina McBride, Deana Carter) to co-produce this raw album.

Then Sings My Soul…Songs For My Mother was originally just a gift for Bowen’s mom, her friends and family. The album was not intended for commercial release but with such great response and positive feedback, Bowen decided to share it with his legions of fans.   “I am at such a good spot in my career right now with a lot of freedom, so this felt like the perfect time to release such a meaningful project” says Bowen.

And to say that Wade’s mom was moved by her son’s thoughtfulness is an understatement, it’s reported that once she heard the final project she was brought to tears.

I know I’m glad he’s recorded and is releasing this CD, and it’s safe to say his mama is too!
