So there’s a new service being created that may just solve a lot of problems for folks who want to own vinyl all while picking and choosing the songs or playlists they want from SoundCloud. It’s called Vinylize.it.
Sounds cool, right? But the folks at Paste magazine warn us not to get too excited just yet: the records will only be made available for purchase following approval from the artist and after enough customers “rally support” for each vinyl record. In addition, the service hasn’t launched yet, and there is no known launch date for Vinylize.it.
Another issue is the sound quality. With all SoundCloud tracks being converted to MP3-128kbps quality for playback, whether these custom vinyl records will sound as good as ordinary vinyl remains to be seen.
