Chris Stapleton not only kicked ass on the Grammys with Bonnie Raitt and Gary Clark Jr in their tribute to BB King, but Chris also won “Best Country Album” for Traveller and “Best Country Solo Performance!”
Also was happy to see Jason Isbell win for “Best American Roots Song” for his tune “24 Frames,” as well as “Best Americana Album” for Something More than Free!
Cool that the Glen Campbell compilation album for his final recording I’ll Be Me also won for “Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media.”
AND a BIG shout out of Congratulations for our Texas girls, Shauna Dodds and Sarah Dodds (and Dick Reeves) for the amazing artwork they did on Still the King: Celebrating the Music of Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys! They won Best Recording Package! Way to go ya’ll!
Oh and I would be remiss if I didn’t point out that one of my all time favorites also won a couple of Grammys: Alabama Shakes! If you don’t know of them, you should really check them out. I was also happy to see “Girl Crush” won especially since amazing writers, Lori McKenna, Liz Rose and Hillary Lindsey wrote it!
