Artists React To Loss of Glen Campbell

We were so sad to hear of Glen Campbell’s passing yesterday after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. He was not only a country and pop music icon, but a talented session musician and part of the famous Wrecking Crew of the 60’s and 70’s, playing on hits by Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, The Beach Boys and Merle Haggard.  His diverse career was studded with huge hits, movie roles and even his own television show.

Some of our favorite artists reacted on Twitter to the loss of the 81 year old legend.

Brandon Rhyder: “So sad to hear about the passing of Glen Campbell. 1 of my most favorite songs is “Gentle on My Mind.” Amazing words & melody. #RIP”

Stoney LaRue: “What a great legacy of music he has left to us forever. Praying for his family during this time. Thank you @GlenCampbell.  #glencampbell”

Kacey Musgraves:  “The world lost a little sparkle today. Rest in rhinestoned peace, @GlenCampbell 💎  You inspired me so much.”

Josh Grider:  “Glen Campbell. May the Rhinestone Cowboy Rest In Peace. What a voice, what a guitar player.”

Jonny Burke:  “Man, Glen Campbell. Helluva ride he had. By The Time I Get To Phoenix and Wichita Lineman coming right up on this long drive today.”

Randy Rogers Band:  “Glen you were my Dad’s all time favorite. The first country voice I heard as a kid. Rest In Peace and thank you sir. God bless your family.”

Jason Isbell:  “Saying Glen Campbell “lost his fight with Alzheimer’s” is like saying “John McCain lost the war in Vietnam.” That’s just not how it works.”
