The Man in Black Show, Birthdays & George’s Final Show

1969: ABC-TV airs the first episode of “The Johnny Cash Show,” with guest Bob Dylan joining the Man In Black on “Girl From The North Country.” Also appearing: Doug Kershaw and Joni Mitchell, who duets with Cash on “I Still Miss Someone.”

1977: Drummer Randy Ragsdale is born in Enid, Oklahoma. He becomes a founding member of alt-country band Cross Canadian Ragweed, which lands four Top 10 country albums from 2004-2009.

1977: Singer/songwriter Brandon Rhyder is born in Carthage, Texas.  Brandon released his first album in 2001 and has released six more albums and boasts an impressive four #1 singles on the Texas Music Chart, along with a plethora of other milestones.

2014: George Strait ended his touring career in style with his final performance at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.  The show shattered a Billboard Boxscore mark for largest single-show attendance at a US stadium when 104,793 fans packed the home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys to see the singer on the final date of his farewell tour Cowboy Rides Away.
